London with Nana--take 1!

I took Nana to London yesterday. We rode the train into Kings Cross Station, just as we always do, then hopped on the train to Green Park. Nana wanted to buy her tea cup (sorry, Mama didn't take a picture of it) first thing! I was really glad---because after that we grabbed lunch and ate in Hyde Park before heading to Westminster Abbey.

When we got to Buckingham Palace, we noticed a huge crowd. Mama said they were just finishing up the Changing of the Guard. We were lucky, because we got to see part of the parade. The Guards with the big Bear Hats went on the other side of the Victoria Monument, but we did see the band play. Nana and I danced along to the music!

While Nana and Mama ate lunch in Hyde Park, I played in the dirt! Ok, I ate a few crisps--but mostly I made sure the flowers had lots of dirt so they could have their lunch, too. That was a lot of fun!

After lunch, I snuggled down in my buggy and took a nap while Nana and Mummy walked through the parks. When I woke up, I was in the middle of the Abbey!

Westminster Abbey is really a cool place. There are TONS of important people buried there, including Queen Elizabeth I, Mary Tudor, King Edward I, William Pitt, Jane Austen, Geoffrey Chaucer...and so many others. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, so you'll just have to go to London to see inside for yourself! They had free audio guides that tell you all about the people and the Abbey. Mama let me play with hers--she's awesome like that.

My favorite part was running around the cloisters. We were allowed to take pictures out there! I had a lot of fun walking around with Nana.

A selfie inside the cloisters!

After the Abbey, we had to stop by the telephone booth and take a picture. Mama said we might have to get another one, because this isn't her favorite picture. I think it's because I'm not smiling or looking at the camera...oh well!

Our next stop, was the V&A--the Victoria and Albert Museum. Mama wanted to take Nana to a special exhibit about the history of Wedding Dresses. Let's just say Mummy and Nana loved it--and I ran around because I was bored.
**Mummy's Note: the exhibition was amazing. We almost didn't go in, because it cost a bit extra, but it was definitely worth it. They had some absolutely stunning dresses! My favorite was a gorgeous empire dress with hundreds of Swarovski crystals on the top and cascading down the train *sigh* wonderful!

After the V&A, we walked to Harrods. We were going to eat there--but Nana and Mummy decided McDonald's was a better idea. Boy am I glad! I had my very first Happy Meal!!! Chicken nuggets and fries all to myself! Nana put a bunch of BBQ Sauce (ahh, my favorite!) on my Happy Meal box so I could dip my chicken in. It was so good!
Nuggets!!! SO EXCITED!

My First Happy Meal Box!
After dinner, we walked to Hyde Park to play. I think I found my very favorite spot in all of London:

The Princess Diana Memorial Fountain!!!

There is water running in a concrete circle, and you are allowed to get in and play! Mama was the best, because even though it was bit cool, she let me get in in just my diaper. I played, and played, till I was shivering--but I still didn't want to get out. When Mama said it was time to go, I was a very good boy and got out, but I could have played there all day. Mama says if the weather is nice, we can go back there when we take Nana to London again on Friday. Huzzah!!

Our very last stop was Peter Pan. Mummy said that Nana and I had to get a picture by him. I was glad we did that, but then it was definitely time to go home. So, we got on the Tube at Notting Hill Gate, heading to King's Cross Station---and back home to Daddy in Cambridge. It was an awesome day in London, and I can't wait to go with Nana again on Friday!
